As of 1st July 2016, the Queensland Government has announced a one-off, 12-month boost of $5,000 to the Home Buyers Grant or First Home Owner’s Grant (FHOG), which will now be worth $20,000, starting 1 July 2016. Home Buyers Grant will increase from $15,000 to $20,000 for a 12 month period only.

The FHOG grant is only available for eligible Queenslanders for a newly built property, newly constructed house, unit or townhouse valued, equal to less than $750,000.

Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant

The Office of State Revenue will change the name from, Great Start Grant, to be known as the Queensland First Home Owners’ Grant.
